4. Mobile Scanning
If you use a USB type of Barcode Scanner, Just open the NBS app on your desktop, click "Click here and scan an item with USB barcode scanner" tab and scan to show the form.
You can also use your Mobile phone to scan a code. Netkiller Barcode Scanner application is supported on both iOS devices and androids. Make sure to have the correct Mobile app scanner for your device. To check that you have the correct barcode capture app, check section 1. Mobile App Scanner Installation for iPhone users and Android users.
4.1 Barcode Scanning
Launch the NBS app (or enter http://bc-scanner.appspot.com in mobile browser) and login with your Google account on your mobile device. Please make sure to logout all other accounts that may have been previously logged onto to avoid multiple accounts mixed up. When the NBS app is opened on your mobile device, press [Click here to scan] to begin scanning barcodes.
Now you can begin scanning barcodes and entering information to the form. The barcode number and timestamp of scan are automatically filled in on the form.
4.2 Form Input via Mobile
The user fills out required and optional text field types accordingly. When finished, press [Submit Changes] on mobile screen after inputting information. The information will instantly be recorded onto the Netkiller Barcode Scanner Google Spreadsheet.
The “Barcode Scanner” tab displays each barcode number once with the item’s most-current status and information entered on the form. This tab serves as the up-to-date view of scanned items. A more detailed record of multiple scans on a single barcode, can be found in the “History” tab.
The first time a barcode is scanned and recorded onto the spreadsheet is considered an initial scan. Anytime a barcode is rescanned, it is considered an update scan. Initial scans and rescans are also recorded, and can be found in the History Tab. Please refer to section 5.3 a. And b. for more on the Barcode Scanner Tab and History Tab.
4.3 Multiple Barcode Recognition
By having the secondary barcode function in the drop down menu of the form, users can find multiple barcodes within one row on the Google Sheet that records inventory.
